Overview

Our courses for the ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business are designed to guide learners through the 60-credit version of this foundation qualification in Business and Management. (equivalent to one A level)

This foundation qualification in Business helps learners learn key concepts and a range of management procedures required to work within a business, it has been specifically developed to provide the knowledge required for students to work effectively, both as individuals and in teams within business. Being able to develop good business management skills is crucial for any company.

The qualification has 5 mandatory units and a synoptic structure with learners utilising learning in units 1 – 4 in a project-based Unit 5.

Upon completion of this course, students receive a Level 3 Business Management qualification which is fully regulated by Ofqual. Students will then have the opportunity to apply for admission onto a full Undergraduate Degree programme from a range of UK universities. Alternatively students can opt to study our Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management and then go on to complete a Undergraduate Top Up at a range of UK universities.

Module Structure

  • ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business is a 60-credit qualification.
  • Learners must complete all 5 mandatory units.

Unit 1: Business Environment  (10 credits)

In this unit learners will gain knowledge and understanding of the environment in which organisations operate. This will support understanding of the different and often complex contexts in which organisations function.


Unit 2: How Businesses and Organisations Work (10 credits)

This unit will provide an overview of key aspects of business. Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of business objectives and structure, customer service, and resource requirements.

Unit 3: Business Communication (10 credits)

To develop knowledge, skills and understanding of communication theory and the importance of effective communication in business.


Unit 4: Working in Teams  (10 credits)

Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of teams and team roles. There is also an opportunity for learners to develop their own employability skills.


Unit 5: Market Research  (20 credits)

Learners will apply the principles to complete a market research project. They will also develop their research skills by applying these to the completion of the chosen market research project.

Applicants must be over 16 years old and meet one of the following criteria: has recently been in education or training, has 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above or Grade 4 and above. Additionally, if English is not your first language, you'll need an IELTS score of 5.5 or CEFR level B2 (or equivalent).

This diploma is a Level 3 ATHE Professional qualification, accredited with a qualification number (QN) of 610/1761/9. It comprises 360 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), carries 60 credits, and represents 600 Total Qualification Time (TQT). This qualification is recognized both in the UK and internationally.

To apply, submit a completed application form provided by Award Academy within a month of enrolment. Along with the form, you must provide proof of educational qualifications, and language proficiency. Your application will then be reviewed for eligibility.

If you fail to meet the entry requirements, your application will not be accepted. It's important to ensure that you meet all the necessary criteria before applying.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the ATHE Level 3  Diploma in Business, a qualification that allows to apply for admission onto a full Undergraduate Degree programme from a range of UK universities.
