Overview

Our courses for the ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business are designed to guide learners through the 120-credit version of this foundation qualification in Business and Management. (equivalent to one A level).

This foundation qualification elevates the learning experience to a comprehensive level. This program is designed to offer learners a much broader and more comprehensive experience of business. With both mandatory Introduction to Financial Controls in Business and Leading and Managing People units building on the core of units from the Level 3 Diploma in Business, the Level 3 Diploma in Business and Management requires learners to study basic leadership and management principles, which can then be developed further through the study of 2 additional optional units.

Graduates earn a Level 3 Business and Management qualification, recognized and regulated by Ofqual, opening avenues for seamless progression into various Undergraduate Degree programs at renowned UK universities. Alternatively, students may opt to further enrich their academic journey by enrolling in our Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management, followed by an Undergraduate Top Up, providing a comprehensive and competitive edge in the business world.

Module Structure

  • ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business is a 120-credit qualification.
  • Learners must complete all 7 mandatory units and 2 other optional units 

Unit 1: Business Environment  (10 credits)

In this unit learners will gain knowledge and understanding of the environment in which organisations operate. This will support understanding of the different and often complex contexts in which organisations function.


Unit 2: How Businesses and Organisations Work (10 credits)

This unit will provide an overview of key aspects of business. Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of business objectives and structure, customer service, and resource requirements.

Unit 3: Business Communication (10 credits)

To develop knowledge, skills and understanding of communication theory and the importance of effective communication in business.


Unit 4: Working in Teams  (10 credits)

Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of teams and team roles. There is also an opportunity for learners to develop their own employability skills.


Unit 5: Market Research  (20 credits)

Learners will apply the principles to complete a market research project. They will also develop their research skills by applying these to the completion of the chosen market research project.


Unit 6: Introduction to Financial Controls in Business  (15 credits)

Learners will develop knowledge and nderstanding of budgets, budgetary control, costings, cash flow, and basic ratio analysis. They will have the opportunity to construct simple budgets and cashflows.
                          

Unit 7: Leading and Managing People (15 credits)

Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of the concepts, principles and skills needed to lead and manage people.

Applicants must be over 16 years old and meet one of the following criteria: has recently been in education or training, has 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above or Grade 4 and above. Additionally, if English is not your first language, you'll need an IELTS score of 5.5 or CEFR level B2 (or equivalent).

This diploma is a Level 3 ATHE Professional qualification, accredited with a qualification number (QN) of 610/1764/4. It comprises 720 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), carries 120 credits, and represents 1200 Total Qualification Time (TQT). This qualification is recognized both in the UK and internationally.

To apply, submit a completed application form provided by Award Academy within a month of enrolment. Along with the form, you must provide proof of educational qualifications, and language proficiency. Your application will then be reviewed for eligibility.

If you fail to meet the entry requirements, your application will not be accepted. It's important to ensure that you meet all the necessary criteria before applying.
